Expert Faucet Repair
A drip of one per second wastes over 3,000 gallons per year. Our technicians carry parts for all four faucet types.
We work on Moen, Delta, Kohler, American Standard, Pfister, and generic brands. We identify the mechanism before ordering any part.
We stock cartridges, ceramic cylinders, ball assemblies, and compression washers for the most common faucet models. Most repairs are same-day.
Every technician is licensed in UT and carries full liability coverage on residential and commercial service calls.
We tell you clearly when a repair makes sense and when the faucet's age or condition means replacement is the better investment.
The Real Cost of a Drip
That is enough water to fill a standard above-ground pool. At average residential water rates, it adds $12 to $35 per faucet annually - more in areas with tiered water pricing.
Most homeowners assume a dripping faucet just means a worn washer - and sometimes that is correct. But the cause of a drip depends entirely on the faucet mechanism involved. A compression faucet drips when the rubber seat washer at the base of the stem wears down - this is the classic fix most people have heard of, and it is genuinely simple. A ball faucet drips when the small rubber seats or springs below the rotating ball fail, or when the ball itself develops pitting. Replacing the washer in a ball faucet accomplishes nothing because there is no washer - the mechanism is completely different.
Ceramic disc faucets are among the most durable faucet designs when they are new, but they are uniquely vulnerable to hard water mineral scale. The ceramic disc cylinder contains two precision-ground discs - one fixed, one rotating - that seal against each other with almost no clearance. When calcium and magnesium deposits from hard water accumulate on the disc surfaces, they prevent a full seal. The faucet begins dripping, and homeowners often replace the entire disc cylinder only to have the same problem return within 6 to 18 months. The correct long-term solution in high-TDS (total dissolved solids) water areas is to descale the discs and the cylinder body, and to address the underlying water quality issue. Replacing the cylinder without addressing scale recurrence is a temporary fix at best.
The cartridge faucet is the most common mechanism in modern bathroom installations. When a cartridge faucet begins to drip or becomes stiff to operate, the failure is almost always the cartridge itself. However, a replacement cartridge in a 15-year-old faucet typically lasts 6 to 12 months before failing again - not because cartridges are unreliable, but because the valve body has experienced 15 years of thermal cycling and mineral exposure that creates micro-roughness on the seat surfaces a new cartridge cannot fully compensate for. Our honest recommendation in these cases: replace the cartridge first and monitor - if it fails again within a year, replace the faucet body rather than continuing to chase cartridge failures.
One of the most useful diagnostic questions a plumber asks about a faucet is: "Is the low flow on both sides or only one?" Low flow on both hot and cold simultaneously usually points to the aerator screen - a $2 fix that takes three minutes. Low flow on one side only points somewhere specific. If it is hot only, the supply stop valve under the sink or the cartridge hot channel is restricted. If it is cold only with normal pressure at other fixtures, the supply stop valve is partially closed or the cold-side cartridge port is blocked. Identifying which side is reduced narrows a repair that could take 30 minutes to one that takes 5 minutes.
Outdoor hose bibs are often the most neglected faucets in a home and the most likely to develop freeze damage in climates that experience sub-freezing temperatures. A hose bib that has not been properly winterized can crack internally during a freeze event, and the damage is not always visible until spring when the faucet is turned on and water begins running inside the wall rather than out of the spout. We check hose bib condition as part of every service visit and rebuild or replace units that show signs of freeze damage before the next season arrives.
What We Fix
Every service below is available same-day. We carry parts, tools, and the mechanism-specific knowledge to get your faucets working properly the first visit.
We clean mineral scale from the valve body and disc surfaces using professional descaling solutions, then assess cartridge condition. This approach extends cartridge life significantly in high-hardness water areas and prevents the cycle of repeated cartridge replacements.
We source the correct OEM or equivalent disc cylinder for your faucet brand and model, clean the valve body before installation, and test both temperature and volume control channels after the replacement is seated.
Supply stops under sinks are often partially closed, seized from mineral scale, or developing slow leaks at their packing nut. We free stuck valves, replace packing, or install new quarter-turn ball valves that provide reliable shutoff and full flow.
A kitchen sprayer that leaks from the hose connection, delivers low pressure, or fails to divert from the main spout typically has a failed diverter valve inside the faucet body. We replace the diverter and inspect the spray head for mineral clogging at the same time.
We inspect hose bibs for freeze cracks, packing wear, and seat damage. Frost-free hose bibs that no longer hold pressure or fail to fully shut off are rebuilt or replaced with properly pitched frost-free models to prevent future freeze damage.
Shower faucets with pressure-balancing valves protect against scalding when a toilet is flushed or a washing machine is running. When these valves fail, temperature swings return. We service or replace the cartridge and test the pressure response through full flow range.
Our Approach
Call us with your faucet location and symptom. We match you with a technician who stocks the parts most likely to fix your specific faucet type.
Before touching a wrench, our plumber identifies the exact mechanism, inspects the valve body, checks the supply stops, and tests the water pressure. This takes 5 minutes and prevents wrong-part replacements.
You receive a flat rate quote for the repair - parts and labor included. No surprises, no hourly adjustments once the work is underway.
We complete the repair, run both hot and cold through the full temperature range, test the shutoff under the sink, and verify there are no drips before packing up.
Client Experiences
“Very thorough. Didn't just replace the obvious part - he tested both channels, found the hot side supply stop was partially closed, and fixed the actual cause of low hot water pressure.”
“Kitchen sprayer had been leaking from the connection for months. Fixed in 20 minutes, replaced the diverter, and showed me the worn hose connector I hadn't noticed. Excellent work.”
“Outdoor hose bib was dripping inside the wall after last winter. They rebuilt it properly with a frost-free bib pitched correctly away from the house. No more worry about freeze damage.”
